“ Oh I, I believe in magic and I believe in dreams…
I saw those high-stepping sexy witches,
Sons of satin, son-of-bitches,
All were there, in my dreams,
All in my dreams.

The internet seems suddenly awash with photos of Morrissey with cats. I can dig it. Perhaps you need to revisit the article in which he talks of being “mystified by cats”…

“ There is a “camp” of bats in the trees behind my mother’s house.
— The bats are Australian natives, Grey Headed Flying Foxes, which have the largest body size of all bats (apart from when they take human form, I guess) and are known as “mega bats” as opposed to “micro bats”. Instead of using echolocation, they use sight and smell, feasting on fruit and pollen mostly. They hang upside because their wee little legs can’t support them to stand. They’re noisy.

“ Meet me at the stroke of midnight, by the swamp down in the wood. I’m gonna make you love me baby, like you never thought you could. You’re gonna drink my magic potion, and your blood shot eyes is gonna shine.

He left behind many children by many women; about 55 were known (or suspected) upon his death, and upon investigation, that number “soon became perhaps 75 offspring”

Screamin’ Jay Hawkins  I Put a Spell on You (1956)

I saw Nowhere Boy the other day, and, apart from noting that the boys looked like they just stepped out of an Elizabeth Peyton painting, it reminded me how much I love this song.
